UKSOL donates PV modules to University College London

Solar PV panels have been kindly donated by UKSOL to University College London (UCL) and will be used by the Civil, Environmental, and Geomatics Engineering Department, on the roof of an experimental station known as the Eco-Hub. It is located at PAMELA, a large UCL lab in North London, where plenty of state of the art innovations and research take place.

The Eco-Hub was set up by Dr Ilan Adler, who recently won the UCL sustainability award, and is supported by his recent spin out, EcoNomad Solutions. Its purpose is to support advanced research and development on low-cost eco-technologies for the developing world, including highly innovative solar pumping techniques, remote sensing of rainwater harvesting systems, and solar-based water purification, among other exciting initiatives.

The panels provided by UKSOL (www.uksol.uk) will power the main structure, which holds a brand new weather station, allowing the various real-time sensors used by students and researchers alike to be operated on a continuous basis.
