The latest ECO measure opportunity by Adrian Wright

Here we share a post on LinkedIn by Adrian Wright, CEO, Happy Energy Ltd. Adrian is a leading export on OFGEM’s ECO 4 grant scheme for social landlords.

“Stand-alone solar PV in off gas properties, phoenix from the flames!

If you have been sobbing about the recent Ofgem solar PV rule U-turn, I mean clarification, you will be delighted to know that you CAN still continue to install PV into off gas homes that already have a heat pump, electric boiler, or HHR ESH. Not only that, but you can claim up to an extra £25 of ABS per kWp installed! Eh?! Tell me how…

Happy Energy Solutions had a crystal ball a few years back and having seen this Ofgem kerfuffle on the 2023 horizon, we worked with our partners at UKSOL Ltd to develop a pre-optimised panel, which Ofgem approved as an Innovation Measure (IM).  As an IM, the off-gas hierarchy does not come into play and you can merrily carry on installing them as a standalone ECO measure, subject to the usual solar PV insulation and electric heating pre-conditions. Not only that, but you can also install them in EPC D social housing. It is like Christmas has come early 🎅 .

If this is of interest, please message me for more details about how the IM process will work. The panels are currently only available by the container load on special order from the distributor Smith Bros and there is a 6-8 week lead time, but this is likely to extend due to the orders already in the pipeline”
