UKSOL Continues Partnership in Bolivia

A partnership started in Santa Cruz, Bolivia at the start of the covid pandemic, continues to flourish despite covid and the distance between the UK and Bolivia.

Bolpegas are the exclusive distributors for UKSOL solar panels in Bolivia. The two companies met during British Week in March 2020, arranged by the British Embassy team in La Paz.

During Andrew Moore’s (UKSOL CEO) visit, it was announced that all flights back to Europe were cancelled due to concerns about the spread of covid. Andrew was promptly able to make his way back to London via Colombia. Some British visitors who did not leave quickly were stranded there until the following September!

Bolpegas continues to develop the solar PV market in Bolivia using UKSOL solar modules. Long may our partnership, borne in adversity, continue, says Andrew.

Santa Cruz de la Sierra is Bolivia's commercial centre and the capital city of the Santa Cruz department. It stands on the Pirai River in the tropical lowlands east of the Andes Mountains. Founded by the Spanish in the 1500s, today it's a cosmopolitan hub with museums, restaurants and nightclubs. Its historic core is anchored by the rose-brick Metropolitan Cathedral on Plaza 24 de Septiembre, the central square.
