UKSOL Panels deployed at a European Embassy in Mali

UKSOL UK Ltd (UKSOL), a solar exporting company has supplied solar panels for a European Embassy located in Bamako the capital of Mali, West Africa. This has been achieved in partnership with international development experts Forex Afrique who are based in Mali.

UKSOL supplied 120 panels as part of a wider Solar Park initiative within the Embassy covering the Embassy Residence; the residence of the Ambassador and four other diplomatic houses.

The total capacity supplied across the whole Solar Park is 84 000 Watt Peak (WP) or 84 Kilowatts Peak (kWp).  Overall it should produce over 150 000 Kilowatts (kw) per year. The UKSOL panels account for 53.4 kWp of the solar capacity deployed.

The wider need to spread access to electricity and clean energy in Mali is significant. In 2018 it was reported that only 51% of the population had access to electricity.

Andrew Moore, the CEO of UKSOL said:

‘I am delighted that UKSOL solar panels are being deployed as part of this initiative at the Embassy in Bamako. Mali is regarded as having significant potential for renewable energy but this needs to be developed for the benefit of all’

Gino Pelletier, Director General, Forex Afrique said:

‘Forex Afrique is confident that the partnership with UKSOL will deliver high quality solutions for Mali’s energy needs. The future is not necessarily based on large-scale grids but also includes small-scale parks such as the Solar Park at the Embassy that are adaptable to the needs of the client’
